Blossoms, expecially the brilliant cherry, palo verde and apple tree blossoms, and of course the endemic cactus blossoms escort spring and summer. I love painting the blossoming trees, with their sculptural trunks and branches, as a reminder that however grim the events of winter may be, spring will come with fresh hopes and new opportunities. My paintings are inspired by the British artist, Damien Hirst. There are 15 varieties of cherry trees growing in Arizona. .
